Bansko - the ski resort...

Bansko is one of the most developed and modern ski resorts in Europe and the most famous on the Balkans.

The highest point of the ski centre is at an altitude of 2 560 m above see level, and the lowest – at 1 000 m above see level. The total length of the ski slopes is 65 km and 80% of them is equipped with artificial snow facilities ensuring skiing from November till May. The geographic location of the town ensures snow cover from December till May, and the alpine Pirin Mountains create excellent conditions for amateur and professional skiing. The average annual temperature is 9.1°С. The lowest temperatures are in February and the highest – in August.

The ski slopes may be quickly and easily reached by the lifts and lift trucks of 26 km total length. Bansko avails with 17 ski slopes of different difficulty levels, permanently maintained in proper condition. The ski centre disposes of 16 km ski way from Banderishka Meadow to the first station of the cabin lift. A special slope with various attractions such as points of unevenness, ski jumps and halfpipe for snowboarding fans and an illuminated night ski slope for real skiers have been completed. Free ride fans may take advantage of the rough forest terrain between the ski slopes and at the mountainsides. The resort also offers biathlon slope and ground and entertainment ground for the youngest skiers supervised by professional trainers and gaming premises. Winter ice rink is located in the centre of Bansko.
